So, you know how to operate your sewing machine now, you've managed to do some simple sewing, and now you want to try your very first garment. You buy a pattern and open it up, and you're lost. Well, have no fear! We've got you covered.

Dive into the world of patterns and learn how to read and alter them for the perfect fit—no sewing in this class! We'll be hands on with our garment pattern covering pattern selection, size, fabric, notions, and more. Attending our Beginner Sewing 101 class isn't necessary, though familiarity with basic machine sewing is helpful.

Purchasing this class provides you with the teaching time.  You will also need to purchase the pattern for the for the class from SEAMS.  Students receive a 20% discount on their materials, so make sure you let the shop clerk know when you are shopping for supplies and they will apply the correct discount at the register. We require the purchase of fabric from SEAMS since the class fee goes to the instructor.  The SEAMS Team greatly appreciates you supporting both the teacher and the store. Please purchase any necessary supplies well enough in advance that fabrics can be pre washed and dried prior to class.
