Learn to Sew with Knits - Concord Shirt in Lansing

This class is perfect for a beginner starting on *knit* clothing or starting their first try at knit shirts. This will be only for the round collars not the V-neck (it is a bit more challenging).

The class is a total of 4 hours in one session.

Purchasing this class provides you with the teaching time and the pattern. You will also need to purchase the amount of fabric needed for the size of pant you wish to make from SEAMS. We require the purchase of fabric from SEAMS since the class fee goes to the instructor. The SEAMS Team greatly appreciates you supporting both the teacher and the store. Fabric should be washed and dried before class. Students receive a 20% discount on their materials so make sure you let the sales associate know that you should receive a class discount on your fabric purchase.

If you would like to use your own machine for this class, but are unfamiliar with using your machine please book an one hour "Get to Know Your Machine" one on one class by emailing events@seamsfabric.com.

We have classroom machines available for you to use, but request that you let us know ahead of time if you'll need to reserve one by emailing events@seamsfabric.com

NOTE: Your sewing machine will need to be able to perform a zig-zag stitch or reinforced straight stitch, or lightening stitch, to work with knits. 

Before the Class begins:

• Please purchase fabric needed from Seams. 
• Trace out pattern in appropriate size before coming to class.
• Prewash, dry, and iron fabric before class.

• Matching Thread
• Knit Machine Needle
• Gridded 18" Ruler
• 6" Metal Ruler

If you need help tracing your pattern please stop by the shop to ask an employee for help. We will also set up a table in the back that can be used if you don't have enough room at home.
