Visible Mending with EPP Hexies with Tracy in Kalamazoo

Learn the basics for mending with English Paper Pieceing. We will first prepare an assortment  of hexagons, learning the easiest method for covering your cardboard templates; once those are made up we will move on to stitching them together, and onto the garment. 

You will bring the garment you would like to stitch onto, and we will supply all other necessary supplies for this project including paper pieces, thread, needles and fabric selections. If you have non-stretch fabric scraps or specific fabrics that you would like to use for this project, please feel free to bring them with you!

This project works best on fabric without a lot of stretch, really stretchy close fitting jeans are not a good candidate for this project. 

 Depending on each students speed or skill, we will ensure that you leave with all necessary skills to complete the project, even if it is not finished within the allotted class time. 

There is no prior sewing experience necessary for this project

30 1” EPP Hexagons

One spool of thread in your choice of color

2 Sewing Needles

Cotton Fabrics

Age policy:

This class is open to students ages 14 and up. Younger students are also welcome as long as they are co-enrolled with an adult who is available to help them during class.

Class refund/rescheduling policy:

 If your schedule changes and you are no longer available to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. We will provide a full refund or transfer to a different class date up to 5 days ahead of the scheduled class. 4 No refunds or transfers are available for cancellations within 4 days of the class due to the difficulty of filling those seats at short notice.
